"In the wake of the horrific attacks of 9/11, America responded with immoral wars, torture, the stripping of civil liberties, and budgets so misguided they cut all except the military's ability to kill. The U.S. response has been retribution, leaving tens of thousands more victims globally dead and suffering. As we pray for all those affected ten years ago today, let us also pray for a decade centered on peace, reconciliation, and a return to love as our guiding force."
